My name is Kristina Scapin. I am so excited to be teaching the kindergarten through second grade classroom. My journey began 24 years ago in Inverness, Illinois. I come from a large family which sparked my passion for children and the desire to teach. The foundation of my education began at St. Theresa School and continued with Loyola Academy where I earned the Sherriff of Cook County Service Award for doing over one hundred hours of service in one year. Early Childhood Education was the major of choice during my four years at the University of Dayton where I learned the fundamentals to life long teaching. My junior year found me studying abroad in Florence, Italy where I made memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.
My experiences working with and teaching children have varied over the past several years. My work has ranged from a 1:1 aide in a second grade classroom to three summers as a camp counselor for children with severe disabilities. This past year I have been a preschool three teacher at Childtime in Evanston. These jobs have given me the skills and knowledge necessary to take on a full time classroom.
